As the situation in Iraq worsens and more American troops are called up for longer tours, the Center for National Policy and the Henry L. Stimson Center hosted a high-level panel of members of Congress and regional experts to discuss just how America can move forward.

Welcomed by CNP's former President Maureen Steinbruner and moderated by Stimson Center President Ellen Laipson, the standing-room only audience at CNP heard from a distinguished panel of speakers. Those included Senator Jack Reed, Rep. Chris van Hollen, Amb. Peter Galbraith, Paul Pillar, and Robin Raphel.

"I’m honored to receive the award from the Center for National Policy tonight because the work of the Center... is very important, an intellectual resource to us, nonpartisan, not political, just about making the future better..." --Speaker Nancy Pelosi
